This platform is combines new ways of publishing books, discovering writers and enjoying books in a whole new and flexible way online and offline.
The innovation introduces a self-publishing model in which authors enrolled onto the platform get to author books with simple, online editors directly on the platform, review their work, and then finally self-publish the polished or draft pieces for the entire world to read!
The entire world can browse all free and public NuScribes libraries; either reading the books directly online, or downloading portable, standard e-book formats (EPUB), for reading offline on any ebook reader software of their liking; on mobile, tablet or desktop.
NuScribes is especially aimed at a new breed of young, creative and adventurous writers, and especially with a hope to inspire many otherwise unpublished and uncelebrated talent in schools (especially girls) all across Africa, to get their voice to the whole world for Free!
Why Books? Books are immortal! So, instead of encouraging writers to focus on blogs, essays and such, we aim to inspire more writers to embrace one of the most powerful mediums of communication ever concieved by man - the book. So, though traditional publishing is out of reach for most aspiring writers, we on the otherhand aspire to not compromise on quality, without letting costs get in the way of creativity and talent exposure. We aspire to be the best and most affordable publishing service any writer will ever be capable of accessing, anywhere!
We also aspire to inspire more africans to read and write constructive books, not just online, but offline as well, as a more progressive and recreational means to spend time - in the process, nurturing and inspiring the next generation of eminent african intellectuals and scholars.
This epic poem, celebrates the experience of one commuter, on behalf of all those that do hop on and off those myriad minibus taxis on Kampala's streets, sometimes called matatus, but actually better regarded as killatatus, for reasons you are about to find out...
This little publication currates my thoughts on a matter of "global proportions" - Egyptian girls flashing their naked bodies, and the men, wanting to rape them on spot. Warning: this is a very thorny domain - ethics in the hands of a brutal pragmatic, ultilitarian liberal relativist (not sure what that means to you though...).
What sparked this? A bold, ground-shuttering Egyptian Lawyer (or that persona).
A growing collection of charms and little secrets of Africa and its people, carefully unveiled using poetry and free verse. Read once, read twice, relive the experience for ever.
Unless you're living under a rock, you've definitely heard of the Nu Chwezi People!
Among the many things we shall be remembered for, is this nifty, cryptic and irreparably impeccable little occult technology simply called "+Shrine". Read the papers, visit and try it out yourself if you haven't already.
Whatever. Check the things this little window into the Wyrd has managed to surface... mostly unaltered. Beware though, when it's called "Esoteric", there's a good reason the eyebrows shouldn't rise.
Let's _ what keeps mad men even busier...
This is a poem (or song), celebrating and highlighting the grandeur, mystique, beauty and simplicity of that primitive, ancient Africa now lost to the modern mind.
It tells a story, but also makes a call; to those who would wish to see humanity regain its lost, ancient spirit and wisdom, to awaken and summon in their own hearts, that great spirit we could once be.
The poem was written by an elder and teacher of the Nu Chwezi, NX.
A collection of poems and prose for easy reading, fun and well... the joy of language!
A collection of lovely poems by the Nu Scribe Joseph Kimbugwe.
MY OBSERVATIONS (Draft 1.1) -- Joseph Willrich Lutalo, NuChwezi Esoteric School, 23rd Jan, 2018/Nu2.

An environment with machines, has a particular impact on us, which we can't ignore anymore.
This (still little) book, is a collection of deliberately short works (some poems, others mini-stories), that are the shinning gems of various daring and remarkable scribes, from the many NuScribes clubs and families (now forming) in Africa.
Most of these works have been written at NuScribes events (workshops, readings, competitions, showcases, etc), and the one typical criterion for a work to be included in this collection is that it ought have been written within 30 minutes and “within or around 100 words”.
Welcome, enjoy and share these little gems of light..
On the night of her 13th birthday, Kaina goes to bed all happy and excited about the trip next day. The lights go out, the music goes silent, and she dives into a really unnormal dream, from which she escapes, only to experience an even more unnatural encounter... of the same kind!
This short story will take you on a tour of the extreme side of dreams and then far beyond, into the less known, less understood realm of our own awareness of identity and the myriad secrets awaiting each one of us... in the land of (waking) dreams.
Turn the lights out, let's go dreaming... dark!
Not capable of occurring or being accomplished or dealt with
(of a person) very annoying or difficult to deal with
Something that cannot be done
Sounds familiar? Well, perhaps you are in for a little suprise, or you are about to start relating...
The growing collection of works submitted from the NuScribes Club at St. Joseph Girls Secondary School in Nsambya, Kampala. Poetry, short-stories and more...
This is a book celebrating, curating and exposing some of the most legendary Hip Hop poems ever written. The works have been annotated and their video or audio included for preview where possible, as a means to augement and place the poem in context.
Most of them have been performed, and have gained fame in the ears of both pop and cult listeners, but some have almost never seen the light of day - mostly because their authors were too inclined to do art for its own sake, a trait you'll come to appreciate in many of the relics included herein.
Writting is a rite, writting is divine. The word written is immortalized, the word spoken begets the universe by affirming what the will visualizes, and so, art forms such as Hip Hop, illustrate and celebrate the most divine of forms of human expression - the manifesting and application of the spoken word. And where conscious, mindful writting was involved, not only do we discover the power of verbal expression, but also get to experience the beauty of ideas immortalized in works of scribes.
This is a work in the spirit of the ancient rite of Hip Hop.
